About me

"I truly believe that counselling and coaching are life changing. I see evidence of this in my work daily as my clients connect with their true potential, which is a huge privilege. I can't imagine anything better than seeing people change and grow in a positive way."

I am a qualified, BACP Registered Therapist offering counselling and coaching for emotional wellbeing, personal development and recovery. I draw upon different therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-processing), Solution-Focussed Brief Therapy, 12 Step Therapy and my approach is underpinned by Humanistic, Person-Centred principles. Now I know that all sounds really confusing but what matters is that in our sessions together, I will use whatever approach fits best with the difficulties you are having.

Before I established myself as a Counsellor and Coach, I spent many years in management roles, in public, private and charitable sector organisations. As Manager of a number of SureStart Children's Centres, I managed a team providing intensive support for families and co-ordinated a comprehensive range of services. Following this, I decided to re-train as a Counsellor, having seen the difference that working one to one with people can make, and since then I have worked for various counselling organisations. I have worked as a Domestic Abuse Counsellor, as an Addictions Counsellor in a residential rehabilitation centre and as a Counsellor in the Emergency Services. In 2018, I decided to fulfil my ambition to set up my own private practice, bringing in my past experience of management and leadership to incorporate coaching into my work. I can now offer the type of service that I feel is most beneficial for my clients - tailored support delivered in a professional and caring way.

Addictions Counselling is a key area of interest for me and I can offer a comprehensive package of support if you are struggling with any form of addiction. I understand how easily coping mechanisms such as alcohol, drugs, food, etc, can get out of hand. You do not need to struggle on your own, so please get in touch to discuss further how I can support you.

I deliver Coaching to individuals around work-related issues and professional development, having more than 15 years of experience in leadership and management roles in local Government and charities.
